In late 2020 the Wemyss Properties commenced construction on it’s first portfolio of childcare centres in Western Australia. Since then the business has provided more than $20m worth of high quality education facilities for over 650 children working with trusted development partners and nationally renowned operators and continues to build it’s presence in the sector.
Piara Waters
In partnership with Jarra Property, Wemyss Childcare opened its new 79 place centre in Piara Waters in September 2022. The centre sits within one of Perth’s fastest growing areas, and is adjacent to Armadale Road, providing excellent access to one of Perth’s major commuting routes to Perth’s CBD. The centre is operated by national operator Greenleaves.
Kalgoorlie
In December 2021 Wemyss Childcare opened a new 92 place childcare centre in the centre of Kalgoorlie. The centre was pre-leased to the YMCA, and designed to provide much needed new spaces to Kalgoorlie’s drastically under-supplied childcare sector. The site in the heart of Kalgoorlie’s city centre was selected in association with the YMCA to best suit demand and with the building’s design being sympathetic to Kalgoorlie’s unique style. Specialisets in regional construction Bilco undertook building work, with development management by Jarra Property, and Represent overseeing project management. The centre incorporates solar panels to provide YMCA with renewable electricity and minimize energy costs.
Brabham
In March 2022 Wemyss Childcare completed construction on an 82 place centre in Brabham, an established suburb in Perth’s north east. With significant residential construction underway in the suburb, a new train line under construction and new school in development, demographics underpinned site selection for the project. The centre was pre-leased to the YMCA and was opened to the public in March 2022.
Harrisdale
Opened in March 2022, the new 92 place Nido childcare centre in Harrisdale was designed and built by Tydan, with development management by Jarra Property and project management by Represent. Located on the fast growing Heron Park development in Harrisdale, the centre services a significantly undersupplied community with much needed childcare spaces.
Bibra Lake
In May 2022 Wemyss Childcare commenced construction on a new 92 space childcare centre in Bibra Lake in conjunction with development partners IPS. WA builders Metrowest will construct the new centre with IPS providing project management services. The new centre, located opposite Bibra Lake primary school, project was completed early 2023 ahead of schedule and under budget.
